The Senate Appropriations Committee is scheduled to vote on Senate Bill 6, a bill that purports to help the lowest performing schools in the Commonwealth, but is really little more than a state takeover and charter school conversion bill all rolled into one. You can read more about it here.

Please email your state senator today to tell him/her to oppose Senate Bill 6.  Helping Pennsylvania’s lowest performing schools is the single best pursuit of the legislature.  However, SB 6, the so called “Educational Opportunity and Accountability Act”, is a flawed bill that relies onquestionable data and does not provide the right tools and mechanisms to deal with the issues that these schools face.

The bill is being voted on in the Appropriations Committee and it is critical that legislators hear from you about opposing it.
