What We Know: The Impacts Of Federal Funding Decisions On PA’s Education Landscape

by Susan Spicka | Mar 19, 2025 | Uncategorized

As discussions around the future of the U.S. Department of Education continue to unfold, we know that many of you are watching these developments closely. While the situation remains fluid, we wanted to reach out with the latest information we have and what it could mean for public education. Our goal is to keep you informed and prepared to take action as needed.

Last week we hosted a webinar discussing some of the possible implications of cuts to the federal Department of Education. Below, you’ll find a link to that webinar, as well as other resources that may be helpful to you during these uncertain times.

You can watch a recording of our webinar, “The Impacts of Federal Funding Decisions On PA’s Education Landscape” by clicking on the Youtube link below.

You can find a copy of the slide deck used in this webinar HERE. There is a lot of information that you can scroll through here.

Please see our Advocacy Toolkit for a 3-page document with condensed information from the webinar.

Please find below additional resources:

As you have likely seen, 20 states are suing the Trump Administration to block the cuts to the USED that we discussed.

Despite the current challenges, we remain very optimistic about the opportunities we have in Pennsylvania to build stronger public schools that will better meet the needs of ALL students in the commonwealth.  We invite you to join us for Advocacy Day on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the state Capitol in Harrisburg, where Pennsylvanians from every corner of the commonwealth will collectively speak with one voice in support of adequate, equitable, and constitutional funding for our public schools.

Please register below, and let us know if you would like us to help schedule a meeting with your local representative to discuss the importance of continuing to invest in PA’s students!

Thank you for your support of public education. We are grateful to do this important work together.
