Our #GivingTuesday request this year is for your continued support as we continue to build the statewide movement we need to get the school funding system our kids deserve.

We have had an incredible year! I am so proud of all that we have done together, despite challenging circumstances.

Since our beginning in 2007, we have been a statewide policy and grassroots advocacy leader to increase resources and improve fairness in school funding.

We work with advocates in communities that are rural and urban,  large and small, rich and poor, Red and Blue, and in every corner of the commonwealth.

This year we led the Level Up coalition, which secured a $100 million Level Up supplement for Pennsylvania’s 100 poorest school districts in the 2021-2022 state budget–a big win for students who have been most shortchanged by our legislature.

And recently, we brought people together from every corner of the commonwealth to rally on the Capitol steps for the kickoff of the trial for Pennsylvania’s school funding lawsuit.

Click HERE for all of the lyrics to These Schools are Your Schools, These Schools are My Schools, written by Shippensburg parents (including me!) back in 2011 when we were protesting Gov. Corbett’s proposed cuts to education funding.

Education Voters has been doing work on the school funding lawsuit for eight years — since before it started: we presented to parents in plaintiffs’ school districts, we helped amplify the inequity, we campaigned for a plan to fund schools fairly.

We have been THE leader in highlighting Pennsylvania’s failed charter school funding policy and the issues of quality and fairness that exist in the system as it was (poorly) designed.

We have released fact sheets and policy papers showing how money matters, how charter schools cannibalize public schools, how lawmakers have failed to act.

We educate parents, community leaders, school board members, policymakers. We help engage parents and teachers and provide tools and opportunities for involvement.

And 2022 is shaping up to be pivotal.

The school funding trial will be decided. There will be a new state budget and a real opportunity for charter school reform. We have new school boards that we need to help educate and we will elect a new Governor and a new legislature.

Please give a contribution to support the work we do with optimism, passion, and love. Together, we are powerful and we make a difference.

Contributions of $25 or more will receive a nifty “Support and Defend Public Education” car magnet!
