As the summer sun sets and we transition into a new school year, we’re gearing up for an exciting and impactful season of advocacy. We recently wrapped up our annual in-person retreat with our partners in the PA Schools Work coalition, leaving with a strong plan to approach this year’s budget negotiations. After the historic increase in public education funding in the recently-passed state budget, we’re already hearing powerful stories about how these funds are making a real difference in our schools.
These stories show why it is so important that this work continues with the same energy and excitement as it did last year. With the launch of our Public Education Champion (PEC) program, we’re excited to start training a new cohort of passionate advocates, all ready to drive change in their communities and across Pennsylvania.
And with the election just around the corner, this month we’ll focus on what it truly means to be an “education voter.” Your vote holds the power to shape the future of Pennsylvania’s schools, making it more crucial than ever to keep public education front and center at the ballot box.
If you haven’t heard, there’s an election happening this fall – and public education is on the ballot. Now more than ever, we need informed voters who are ready to stand up for our schools, students, and educators.
That’s why we’re inviting you to join us on Thursday, October 3rd at 7 pm for a special webinar on what it means to be an “education voter” this fall. This means considering how candidates and policies will impact public schools, students, teachers, and the overall education system.
We’re excited to announce the official launch of our new Public Education Champion (PEC) program! This dynamic group of advocates is already hard at work, learning how to advocate for the future of public education in communities across Pennsylvania.
We couldn’t be more proud of their dedication and passion. Click here to meet the incredible advocates who are standing up for your schools and making a difference every day.
