As Pennsylvanians continue to process what Tuesday’s election will mean for our public schools and communities, our team is holding close the vulnerable students and their families who would be impacted by actions aimed at rescinding key civil rights protections in schools. We will be working with our community partners and our partners in the Pennsylvanians for Welcoming and Inclusive Schools coalition to engage at every level and to use every resource available to protect students and help ensure that public schools will provide a safe and supportive environment in which everyone can learn, succeed, and thrive.

We will also continue our efforts in, across, and with every region of the commonwealth to bring people together to build support for a public education system in Pennsylvania that is fully and constitutionally funded.

It is important for us to remember that while Americans are divided on many issues, public education continues to enjoy strong bipartisan support in Pennsylvania and nationwide.

We can see this clearly in three states where school voucher referenda were on the ballot on Tuesday. In all three states–NebraskaKentucky, and Colorado– voters across the political spectrum from rural and urban communities joined together to resoundingly reject voucher schemes that would have harmed their local public schools.

We have more in common than divides us and Pennsylvania’s public school students need us in this moment.

We hope that you are ready and willing to continue the fight to build public schools in every community where students will not only have the resources they need to succeed, but also where they will be seen, loved, and valued for who they are.

Deeply grateful for your continued support,

The Ed Voters Team
